THREE kind-hearted children are getting ready to complete a fun run in aid of a cause that they are passionate about.

Ethan Stansfield, 10, from Lowton, will run with Aimee Ogden, 11, and Katie Coates, 11, both from Leigh, in the Manchester 5K Pizza Run on Saturday, May 12 to raise funds for veterans charity Shoulder to Soldier.

After finishing the course, participants will be rewarded with slices of pizza.

Ethan's mum Demra said: "Ethan has always been interested in the forces and he completed a Tough Mudder event two years ago in support of Help for Heroes.

"He also loves going to visit the veterans' allotment at Bents Garden and Home to see the work they are doing there as well.

"It is great that the three of them have decided to do something to help and I am very proud of them.

"They have all been training hard to make sure that they complete the run on the day."

Ethan and Katie also completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge last summer to raise funds for Shoulder to Soldier.
