A pensioner who fatally stabbed a man in the neck in Manchester city centre has been convicted of manslaughter.
David Broady, aged 71, of Victoria Court, Victoria Square was convicted today at Manchester Crown Square Court.
He was found guilty of the manslaughter of Craig Douglas in Manchester's Gay Village following a seven day trial.
At 7.30pm on February 25, police were informed that a man had been stabbed in the neck on Canal Street close to its junction with Minshull Street and Aytourn Street.
Officers and ambulance crews attended and found the victim lying on the floor with a single stab wound to his neck.
He was taken to the Manchester Royal Infirmary but died soon after his arrival. He was later identified as Craig.
A post-mortem examination later revealed he died of a single stab wound to the neck from a weapon about 6cm to 8cm in length.
Broady is due to be sentenced on November 11.
