PENNINGTON Hall Park was as pretty as a picture until Sunday night when senseless vandals decided to rip up plants from colourful flower beds.
The summer bedding plants had only recently been planted.
A spokesperson for Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust said: “It has taken four men a whole day to replace these plants and cost £900 through man hours and replacement plants.
“This isn’t acceptable behaviour and we would encourage anyone with information to contact the police.
“We want people to take great pride in their parks and we’d urge them to report any anti-social behaviour to the police straight away.
“Whoever has done this should be ashamed of themselves.”
