A TOP legal guide has listed two Leigh lawyers as leaders in their field.
They are partner Louise Griffiths, head of clinical negligence and Mike Pemberton, head of the crime special cases team at Stephensons Solicitors LLP.
The Chambers UK guide is one of the leading independent guides to the legal profession.
Published annually after extensive research it recommends law firms and individuals for their expertise by ranking them in bands.
In the latest guide as well as Louise being named a leader, the department she manages also received a ranking.
The guide says: “This wide-ranging practice is noted for the high quality of its instructions and all-round efficiency. Louise Griffiths is boosting the group's reputation and attracting more high-value claims to the firm.”
Mike has been named a leader in administrative and public law for his human rights work. Chambers says: “Michael Pemberton frequently brings judicial reviews relating to prisons and parole, and his standard of client care sets him apart from many competitors.”
Stephensons Family and Personal Injury teams were also given rankings.
Ann Harrison, chairwoman of Leigh-based Stephensons, said: ““A recommendation in Chambers UK is an important benchmark, helping us to attract new business and new employees. I am pleased to see that many of our talented teams have received a ranking this year, and the praise given specifically to Louise and Mike is testament to the cutting edge work they are conducting every day on behalf of their customers.”
