Chorley shopkeeper threatened with gun

A CHORLEY shopkeeper refused to open the till despite being threatened with a gun.

Police were called to the News and Books store, Eaves Lane, Chorley, at 5.25pm on Monday.

A man, dressed in dark clothing, had entered the store with a black handgun and demanded the shopkeeper open the till. The shopkeeper refused and the man ran out empty-handed, police said.

It is believed he met with a second man before fleeing the area.

Police said the shopkeeper was very shaken but not injured. It is unclear at this early stage whether the weapon was real or imitation.

A full search has been made of the area and an investigation is underway. Any witnesses or anyone with any info is urged to contact police on 08451 25 35 45.

It is a well established fact the "gun crime " exploded under the "New Labour" government. "New Labour" are and always have been "Soft on Crime Soft on the Causes of Crime". Are you listening "Mr Nihiliband"?
