EX-Eastenders and Shameless actor Jody Latham is set to face magistrates after the discovery of a £15,000 cannabis farm in East Lancashire.

Latham, 30, was arrested alongside his partner Sarah Melia, 31, after Lancashire police found 24 cannabis plants growing at a property in Stacksteads on May 13 last year.

Latham, of Market Street, Bacup, and Melia, of Cotman Close, Bacup, are due to appear before Burnley magistrates next Wednesday in relation to the find at a house in Acre Mill Road.

The pair, who run Crew Urban Grooming together, in Bacup’s Market Street, will each answer a charge of producing cannabis.

Earlier this year Latham, who grew up in Colne and attended the former Walton High and Park High, said he was facing bankruptcy.

His most recent major role was playing Eastenders bad boy Rob Grayson but he first rose to prominence playing ‘Lip’ Gallagher alongside David Threlfall in Channel 4’s Shameless.

But he has also starred in ITV’s The Fixer and had a stint as a trainee chef in Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen.

Latham was behind the short-lived Jack’s bar in Barrowford before entering the world of men’s fashion.

He also had plans to expand his trading empire into Manchester and the exclusive suburb of Hale, and launch an online clothing range.
