TWO police officers were injured when they went to arrest a teenager outside an Accrington pub after he was seen to push his mother.
Blackburn magistrates heard one officer banged his head on a bench after falling backwards and the other was kicked on the shin as Martin Joseph Ward lashed out.
Ward, 18, of Exchange Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to two charges of police assault.
He was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
A condition of bail is that he does not enter any on-licenced premises.
Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said police were called to a report of a disturbance at the King’s Arms, in Lee Street.
Ward was arguing with his mother who was involved in a discussion with another group.
“He pushed his mother out of the way and, at that point, the officers went to arrest him,” said Miss Allan.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said his client did not have a great recollection of events.
But he accepted his behaviour after the police attended was wholly unacceptable.
