A GARDEN party that was called-off because of rain during the wettest June on record will go ahead on Sunday.
The Epiphany Trust garden party is set to begin at 2pm at 9 Winwick Lane, Lowton and all proceeds from the event will support the Trust's projects with disadvantaged children in Sri Lanka, India, Burma, El Salvador and Romania.
"We rely totally on donations," said Trust spokesman Gill Dickinson.
"More details on the wide range of help the charity provides can be found at www.epiphany.org.uk. Although not the highest profile charity, the Epiphany Trust provides life changing support to children and young people throughout the world and relies on the work of volunteers and donations."
The Powell Brothers will open the party and will be followed by the Lowton, Golborne and Newton Choir led by Olwyn Rowlinson, accompanied by Shade Chort, with a contribution by Footprint mid afternoon before the choir rounds off the event.
Car parking space is available at St Catherine’s and refreshments will include, tea/coffee/soft drinks, a bar, cakes, ice cream and a chocolate fountain, Bertie Bassett, Olympic and celebrity quizzes, a treasure trail, raffles, books, toys and bric-a-brac sale, a hand massage and face-painting , a Friends of ET display, wood crafts and card stalls.
