The promoters of a Valley music festival, which is designed to showcase Rossendale talent, promise their 2012 incarnation will be a crowd-puller.

Despite poor weather the inaugural B-Fest held at Bacup Cricket Club last year provided a welcome outlet for young and older musicians.

And now B-Fest is set to return to the Lanehead venue on September 29 for an encore performance featuring talent from across East Lancashire.

Boomin’, Pendle-based Gizesque, The Delinquents, The Loop, Riflemen of War and Lareena have been signed up for the main stage.

The club steward and organiser Karen Warren said: “The first one we held last year was good despite the weather being a bit rubbish.

“We decided to organise it because there’s not a lot for young people to do in Bacup and it just took off from there.

“This year we’ve had a lot of interest and we should have something for all the family.

“There will be an acoustic lounge in the club itself and an archery club will also be coming to give demonstrations.”

Giant water-walkers and inflatables are also planned for the all-dayer, which will kick off at 2pm, with bands on stage an hour later.

The festival has a Facebook website for updates regarding the line-up.

Tickets will be available from the club or the Time Out sandwich shop in Union Street, priced at £5 beforehand, or on the gate on the day.

Bands or solo artists who are wishing to grab a slot in the acoustic lounge are asked to call Karen on 0780 969 5890.
