NEXT Monday marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Breast Cancer Care encouraging as many people as possible to show their support by hosting a Pink Friday.
A Pink Friday can be anything you want. Whether you dress pink, drink pink or wear pink is up to you. As long as it’s pink and you have fun and it raises money is all that counts.
Breast Cancer Care supporter Paloma Faith said of the campaign ““My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 and had to have a single mastectomy. She’s my best friend and emotional guru rolled into one so you can imagine how devastating it was to hear the word ‘cancer’. This is why it’s so important to me to support Breast Cancer Care’s Pink Fridays campaign. Just dress up in the craziest pink thing imaginable – it doesn’t have to finish with your clothes, turn your desk, your house, even your car pink to raise money for Breast Cancer Care and help support everyone who’s heard those horrible words: ‘You have breast cancer.”
Area Fundraiser, Helen Cameron said: “In October alone 4,000 will hear the shocking news that they have breast cancer. All our services are free and it is the generosity of individuals that makes it all possible. We would like as many people across Manchester to show their support by holding their own Pink Friday event. If you want to find out more or to get your free fundraising pack, we would love to hear from you so please call 0114 2636481.”
