A KITCHEN garden will be created for residents at Clayton House Sheltered Housing complex in Leigh.
Adactus Housing Association’s Neighbourhood Fund has provided almost £3,000 with which Groundwork Trust will transform outdoor space with planters, fruit trees and a trellis for climbing vegetables.
Lindsay Greenhalgh, Neighbourhood Development Officer at Adactus, said: "The positive impact of community food growing projects is massive; they not only promote healthy lifestyles but also bring the community together. The project will give residents at Clayton House the opportunity to get involved and keep active.
‘The money is available because of efficiency savings we have made.’
