Tyldesley Allotments plot holders get bin windfall
7:30am Sunday 21st October 2012 in North West
PLOT holders on Tyldesley Allotments site couldn’t refuse a windfall from Wigan Council.
When the authority was about to send away surplus wheelie bins for recycling Clr Barry Taylor stepped in.
The damaged bins that could no longer be used as intended were delivered to the Tyldesley Allotments Association after Clr Taylor consulted site secretary Eunan Jones.
Clr Taylor said: “The bins are useful on allotments for water storage and vermin proof feed storage. Members are grateful for this donation and thank Phil Tomlin, waste management officer at Hindley, who has been instrumental in this process and helped with their delivery.
“The bins have been distributed among the members and are already being put to good use.”
