For the past 25 years, I have tried to find the parentage of James Margerison who married Mary Southworth in 1795, and had seven children all christened in St Paul's Church in Blackburn.
Mary's parents were William Southworth and Anne Moulden.
I have been to Samlesbury twice, gone over every record in the parish of St Leonard the Less, and have obtained death records for Mary and the person I think is her husband, James, but identifies no parents.

I also have a census of 1841 where James is living by John at Nabs Head.
In John's household there is an older woman named Jane whose death certificate is signed by James Margerison, and she is identified as a widow of Henry. This cold be his mother.
I know James and Mary had a son named James, and I am hoping the family is still in the area.
I frankly don't know what else to do, I tried a professional English genealogist and she referred me to the records I already have.
