First production: Strike Happy

THE Phoenix Theatre Company first appeared on stage in 1982 with a performance of Duncan Greenwood's Strike Happy, staged at the Chorley New Road United Reformed Church.

IN only the second season in which they entered the Greater Manchester Drama Federation competition, the Company had fantastic success.

THE Phoenix's production of Arthur Miller's The Crucible was another award-winner, taking the Section A Drama Shield for Best Production in the section at the 1998 Greater Manchester Drama Federation Awards.

PHOENIX teamed up with the Marco Players to present a Pies, Peas and Plays evening.
Trainspotter: Anorak Of Fire

JOHN O'Connell worked the geek-chic look in the 2002 production of Anorak Of Fire, the tale of Gus, a young trainspotter, who has his life turned upside-down when he meets Natalie.
