BOLTON MP David Crausby joined broadcaster Vanessa Feltz in pledging support for the Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal.

Mr Crausby, who represents the Bolton North East pledged his support to the appeal and is encouraging local people to donate and wear a Marie Curie daffodil pin throughout the month of March. The money raised will help Marie Curie provide nursing care to people with a terminal illness and support for their families across Bolton.

Mr Crausby said: “Marie Curie Cancer Care provides an invaluable service, with over 2,000 nurses working in the UK to provide important support to terminally ill patients, including half of all cancer patients who die at home. This only happens because of the generosity of people all across the country, and I hope that Bolton residents consider picking up a daffodil before the end of the month.”

Vanessa Feltz, who gave a speech to an audience of MPs, Lords and volunteers, has been a long-time supporter of Marie Curie and spoke about the importance of its care and the profound impact the charity has on people’s lives.

Scott Sinclair, policy and public affairs manager at Marie Curie, said: “To have the support of high-profile individuals, such as David and Vanessa, makes a huge difference to Marie Curie. With their help we are able to raise awareness about what we do and reach more people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones."
