A review of council tax single person discounts in Bolton is being carried out during August 2015.
Bolton Council is asking anyone who receives a 25 percent person discount to check that their entitlement should continue if their circumstances have changed.
Rather than contacting every resident or owner that currently claims this discount, Bolton Council will cross match their local data with a national data checking organisation. This exercise will help the council identify local residents that may no longer be entitled to discount and these people will be contacted.
Any residents who think they may no longer be entitled to a single person discount for Council Tax should contact the council as soon as possible. They can go online at bolton.gov.uk and complete the cancel single person discount form on the Council Tax, Discounts and Exemptions page, or phone 01204 331599.
