CLIFF Morris has been given responsibility for overseeing culture in Greater Manchester.
The Bolton Council leader has been handed the portfolio for culture, arts, and leisure on the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) by mayor Andy Burnham.
Cllr Morris’ new role was formally confirmed yesterday, at the first meeting of the GMCA since Mr Burnham was elected in May.
His previous role on the authority — made up of the 10 Greater Manchester council leaders and the metro mayor — was as lead member for children’s services.
At the meeting in Rochdale, the leaders also signed updated Armed Forces Covenant.
