MP Ivan Lewis has denied claims that he sexually harassed a 19-year-old woman.
The Bury South representative had been accused by the woman who said he touched her leg and invited her back to his house in 2010.
But in a statement, the Labour man denied the allegation, saying he had good professional relationships with 'virtually all' his female colleagues.
But he added: “I understand that a few women have claimed that my behaviour made them feel uncomfortable.
"I have on occasion asked women I work with out for drinks or dinner, or developed strong feelings for them, and I am genuinely sorry if this was unwelcome or inappropriate in the circumstances, and caused anyone to feel awkward.”
