AFFORDABLE homes do not have to be ugly, a Bolton peer has urged ministers.
Speaking in a House of Lords debate on the Government’s plans to introduce extra social housing, Baroness Morris of Bolton welcomed the announcement but urged her government to ‘build attractive homes’.
She said: “Just because homes are affordable does not mean they have to be ugly.
“We should pay as much care and attention to the surroundings and well-being of those in social homes as we do to those in the private sector.”
