BOLTON Council does not have any plans to appoint a dedicated anti-fraud team, the deputy leader has confirmed.
Cllr Ebrahim Adia made the statement in response to a question from Conservative group leader, David Greenhalgh at the recent meeting of the full council.
Cllr Greenhalgh asked if town hall chiefs had any plans to emulate Rochdale and Cheshire East councils by installing a team to tackle fraud.
In reply Cllr Adia said but Bolton had made heads of services responsible for preventing deception and fraud. He added: “We are confident we have robust systems in place and all our staff remain vigilant.”
