Police appeal over attack on bus driver

POLICE are still hunting a youth who headbutted a bus driver in a dispute over a fare.

The driver challenged the teenager, who was trying to get on the 506 First school service to Thornleigh College with an invalid ticket.

Police and the ambulance service were called after the driver pulled over in Padbury Way, Breightmet, at 8.30am on Wednesday, April 16.

The driver, aged 44, suffered facial injuries and was sent home for the rest of the day.

The attacker is understood to be aged about 19. Police are investigating the incident but are yet to make an arrest.
