Timetable of memorial events

12.30pm: Visitors at Bolton Central Fire Station are asked to make their way to Victoria Square.

1.10pm: Procession will depart from Bolton Central Fire Station.

Leading the procession will be Borough Commander Ian Bailey, who will carry the lantern. Bolton police force will be represented by Ch Supt Dave Hull, and Garry Rhodes will represent Bolton Mountain Rescue. Fire engine and police car will follow. The procession will walk from Bolton Central Fire Station to Victoria Square. A guard of honour will be formed.

1.35pm: Service will open with words from the Vicar of Bolton, Rev Matt Thompson.

1.46pm: An old Fire Bell will be rung to mark the beginning of the two-minute silence. The mayor will proceed to the cenotaph and lay the lantern. The leader of the council will proceed to the cenotaph and lay a wreath of white roses. Mr Bailey, accompanied by Emma Hughes, whose father Graham Hughes was a firefighter who died while on duty, will lay a wreath, as will representatives from other emergency services. The Bishop of Bolton will offer a blessing and the ceremony will close with the National Anthem.
