Dog-fuelled skateboarder takes to Brighton streets

BOARD-ER TERRIER: The dog takes his owner for a ride BOARD-ER TERRIER: The dog takes his owner for a ride

City shoppers were rubbing their eyes in disbelief this week after one local found a novel way to escape the rising price of petrol.

He took the tarmac on North Road, Brighton, with his skateboard and pet pooch.

The dog whispering daredevil casually weaved down the city street as shoppers and city workers looked on.

Do you know the teen? If so call the newsroom on 01273544536.

I wonder if he was on his way to purchase a belt?

What a story.

First city shoppers rubbed their eyes in disbelief, then they AND city WORKERS blinked in disbelief. That's a lot of disbelief right there!

Is it really *that* strange that a dog pulls someone along on a skateboard? Just a lazy way of taking it for a walk.

Also the headline (which, as it is, would need a hyphen): The skateboard isn't 'fuelled' by the dog, just being pulled by it. You don't 'fuel' a caravan or a trailer when you move it, do you?

That road was in danger of becoming a rat-run!

Hi Cabin - thanks for your eagle eyed appraisal of the story. I'm the web editor, and it's my first week back from a year's maternity leave, so I hope you'll cut me some slack on this occasion as I'm still getting to grips with a return to working reality. I've now changed the story.

Slack duly cut, Jo. Apologies for the slightly over-zealous response.

Quality reportage from the Argus, as always.

I saw a cat take a dump in my neighbours garden this morning; hope this too is on the front page of this website by this afternoon....

Has that young man been reported to the DVLA?
He needs to pull up his socks and his trousers.
