A CARING slimmer has shed the pounds as much for her children as for herself.

Anita Spibey, of Westhoughton, is keen to teach her children the benefits of healthy eating after losing two stone in seven months.

The 42-year-old, who is mum to Emma, seven, and Will, five, says she is proud to be helping to fight the flab for future generations.

Mrs Spibey, who has been inspired to become a Slimming World consultant, said: “I don’t want Emma to have weight issues as she gets older. She’s only seven and I’ve told her that I’m not on a diet.

“She knows that I go to Slimming World to learn how to cook and eat more healthily, and she has learnt that I might lose some weight by not eating lots of ‘rubbish’ foods.”

Mrs Spibey decided to take the plunge and lose weight while on a family holiday.

She said: “My confidence has soared and I no longer feel like that frumpy woman I used to be. And with two lively children to look after I’d put my career on hold for a while.

"But I’m now ready to do something that I’m passionate about. I reached my targets quickly and I gained so much energy for myself and my children.

“I enjoy food a lot more now. Rather than grabbing something that’s quick and easy, I’ve learnt that it’s just as quick and easy to make tasty meals from the recipe book, and I can still enjoy my favourites like a cooked breakfast or a curry.”

Mrs Spibey runs her slimming classes at Westhoughton Cricket Club on Thursday and Over Hulton Conservative Club on Wednesday at 7pm.
