VOICE coach David Seck-Sene ensured young singers at Eatock Primary School were in fine tune for a performance

David, from Senegal, visited the primary school along with Bolton Music Service in Westhoughton, as part of the World Voice Project, which this year is based in Greater Manchester having moved from Brazil last year.

Year five pupils took part in a series of workshops where they rehearsed She's a Lassie from Lancashire and taught David the song, as well as clog dancing.

He returned the favour and taught them a song from his homeland in his mother tongue, which they rehearsed and performed at the concert.

Eatock was one of ten schools taking part in the World Voice Project which culminated in a concert at Manchester University.

They performed a song specially written by composer Lin Marsh, who they met and worked with.

Debbie Hunt, community involvement leader at the school, said: "We were so honoured and privileged to be chosen, one school from each borough in Greater Manchester was chosen to take part, and we were chosen from the schools in Bolton.

"It was wonderful to see the children perform, they were so confident."

The idea is through song and dance, children learn about the different cultures and languages which make up the world.
