TRIBUTES have been paid after a popular pub landlord who died suddenly at the weekend.

Ste Brady, who ran The Wheatsheaf in Market Street, Westhoughton, with his wife Christine, was found unconscious at his home in Broad Walk in the early hours of Sunday.

The ambulance was called but the 57-year-old sadly died.

Staff at the pub shared a heartfelt tribute to Mr Brady on The Wheatsheaf's Facebook page.

It read: "Ste was not only the Sheafs landlord but also a fantastic husband to Christine and a wonderful father and grandfather. Many regulars knew and loved him dearly.

"To someone first meeting him he may have appeared miserable at first but it didn't take people long to learn to love his wonderful dry sense of humour."

His funeral will be at Overdale West Chapel at 2pm on Tuesday.
