PLANNERS have deferred a decision on proposals to build 58 new homes over concerns the information before them could be flawed.

Bolton Council’s planning committee refused to consider the plans for the development at Hartley’s Farm in Westhoughton on Thursday.

Cllr Norman Critchley demanded the decision be postponed due to concerns that figures relating to house-building targets were not accurate. He said: “We made a decision to this should be discussed at a policy development group. If the council makes a policy decision that is it.”

All members bar the chair, Cllr Hanif Darvesh, supported Cllr Critchley.
