Not happy about bus pass incident

I too am not happy with First Bus Drivers. My son is 14 and has special needs. He therefore receives free bus travel and has recently received his new Concession Plus Bus Pass.

The first time he came to use this pass he was refused by the driver as it was before 9.30am. He was upset and embarrassed by this so he got off the bus and walked to school. He started using his old pass so that this wouldn't happen again. He has now lost the old pass, but will not try to get on a bus with his new one.

I phoned First Bus to find out if the driver was correct and was told as the pass was a Concession PLUS travel was free anytime. I asked if all the drivers were aware of this and was told yes, and my son was to argue with the driver if refused again! My son gets a pass because he would not think of arguing with the driver, especially on a full bus. I hope drivers read this so they will all know the correct times for the use of the new passes.

Am I reading this right?
The lad has a bus pass to get him to school and the driver thought that it could not be used before 9.30.
What time should a bus pass be used for school travel?
I suppose he can't use it to travel home after 3.30?
The mind boggles! People are putting their lives in the hands of this clown!

The very same drivers who just let an OAP before 0930 say '70p please' without making them show their senior citizen permit. Double standards! They DARENT ask for granny or grandads pass as they'll get a roasting off said OAP, so they 'scapegoat' their enforcement onto defenceless children. Good God help us
