Tory votes mirror national success

HE Labour Party has not bucked the national trend as reported in The Bolton News on May 3.

In Bolton North-east, where I am the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate, Labour's vote went down 10 per cent on 2007 and the Conservative vote went up by more than 10 per cent.

The Conservative vote across the whole of Bolton North-east was greater than that of the Labour Party and Lib-Dems combined.

Labour was incredibly fortunate that it was mainly defending traditional Labour wards.

If Thursday's polls had been a General Election then Bolton would now have had two Conservative MPs with considerable majorities.

The Conservative vote in Bolton was with the national trend - as was our share of the popular vote. The figures are indisputable and readily available.
