I HAVE just read Bolton South East MP Brian Iddon's account of his trip to Gaza and Jerusalem, "MP's diary of despair" (May 9).
As well as being very interesting and enlightening, it does throw up a few questions, one of the main ones being: Why are we still dealing with Israel?
With the Olympics on the horizon, there is currently a lot of talk regarding the morals of competing in China, a country with a very poor humanitarian record.

Is China's record any poorer than that of Israel? I don't think so.
The way that country has behaved - and I am in no way saying that the Palestinians are blameless in all of this - over the years is appalling.
For a country like our's, which has chosen to intervene, alongside America, in Afghanistan and Iraq, why have we stood by and done absolutely nothing about Israel?
At least Mr Iddon is keeping us informed of what is really happening over there.
