Firm is finding success during credit crunch

9:50am Monday 3rd November 2008

AN online performance marketing specialist is beating the credit crunch with a forecasted turnover of more than £500,000 in the next three months.

Maxafi Ltd will generate more than £20 million of online retail sales for partners in that time — an increase of more than 150 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Maxafi, based at Evans Business Centre in Manchester Road, is bucking the trend of struggling businesses.

The company puts its success down to more people using the internet to hunt for bargains.

Maxafi expects a lot of business in the run-up to Christmas as the popularity of shopping for presents online grows.

Managing director Lee Bailey said: “The online high street is the place where most people now start their Christmas shopping.

“We understand what consumers want and where they can get the best bargains, so our sites provide an ideal channel for retailers and consumers to get together.

“Despite the credit crunch, Maxafi has rapidly gone from strength to strength, and with this year’s online Christmas sales in the UK expected to be up by nearly 50 per cent compared to last year, we are looking forward to a busy, prosperous festive season.”

As an online performance marketing specialist, Maxafi owns and operates a series of price comparison, user review and discount websites, which provide a starting point for consumers.

They generate revenue only if consumers choose to follow links from the sites to the retailers’ sites.

Maxafi was started in 2006. In 2007, it generated sales of more than £100 million.

The company expects final sales figures for merchants to be more than £250 million this year. The firm now also operates in the USA and is expanding across the country.
