TRAGIC Tommy D'Attorre was only in this world for just three months before he died but he brought his parents and brother and sister boundless love.
The tiny baby suffered from a rare genetic disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) for which there is no cure.
His parents Ralph and Siobhain knew they would not have long to spend with their tiny son but they and their family made the most of the short time they had.
It is a sad fact of life that genetic diseases like SMA do not have a cure and that parents carrying the rogue genes only usually find out after a child is born.
Let us hope future research will help those affected by genetic illness and that a cure can be found so that other families will not suffer like the D'Attorres.
