Legal help for cancer charity

A FIRM of lawyers has raised thousands of pounds for Cancer Research.
Stephensons Solicitors LLP, which has offices in Bolton and Leigh, collected £2,500 in various ways, including dress down days and making donations instead of sending Christmas cards. The firm also raised £2,500 for the charity in 2006.
Trish Stephenson, head of human resources, said: "Raising money for worthwhile causes is extremely important to the firm and we are constantly looking for new ways to give something back.
"Cancer Research UK has been our nominated charity for the last two years and we're pleased to be able to hand over such a substantial contribution.
"It is enough to fund at least two women's participation in breast cancer prevention trials."
