MATCHDAY LIVE: Wanderers 1 Ipswich Town 2

This live event has finished

4:58pm

All over. Desperately disappointing. Match report up soon.

4:50pm

Chopra got clear there, Bogdan denied him one on one.

4:50pm

Bradley Orr with volley from edge of the box - Bogdan spilled it, and Chopra drilled his shot into roof of the net. Four mins added time to play.

4:48pm

GOAL! Ipswich.

4:46pm

Butterfield goes close with an off-balance effort from edge of the box.

4:44pm

Martin has a snap shot saved by Bogdan. Almost stiole it there.

4:43pm

It would be nice!

4:42pm

Eight mins left and neither side looking likely to snatch a winner for me.

4:35pm

Butterfield on for Andrews now.

4:32pm

Wanderers need to compose themselves now. Can't let this turn into a defeat.

4:30pm

Afobe on for SKD.

4:30pm

Completely out of the blue, but think the penalty was fair. Mears also booked, which means he misses next game.

4:28pm

GOAL! Penalty slotted away by Campbell

4:27pm

Penalty to Ipswich. Mears foul on Murphy

4:25pm

Chungy has looked busy since coming on.

4:21pm

Bringing Eagles off! Interesting move.

4:21pm

Chung-Yong coming off the bench imminently

4:20pm

Attendance today 17,208

4:19pm

Moans and groans getting more audible now. Shame, because Wanderers are still controlling this game.

4:17pm

Fans getting a little restless too. Football isn't flowing as well as it did in the first 15 minutes.

4:16pm

Just hope the few missed chances don't come back to bite Wanderers in the bum at the moment. Much the better side - but McCarthy has changed things by throwing on front men Thomas and Murphy.

4:11pm

SKD header saved by Henderson after Andrews and Eagles had between them managed to chip a cross into the six yard box.

4:08pm

Could have been 2-0 there as Kevin Davies snapped a volley at goal. Mark Davies with the cross from the left.

4:06pm

Fairly sedate stuff at the start of the half. Alonso has just swung a cross in without much end result.

4:03pm

And there we go, three mins later, here are Wanderers!

4:01pm

Ipswich back out. Freedman likes to keep them waiting.

4:00pm

Have just spotted Hastings Town as a potential third round tie... just so long as they don't make it a Friday night on ESPN!

Come on Trotters - lets have another !

3:47pm

Half time. 1-0 and relatively comfortable for the Whites. Not a classic by any means yet, but a warm round of applause from the fans as the players depart. Just about the only warm thing this afternoon, in fact.

3:46pm

Well I say run... more like a slow, awkward jog.

3:46pm

One minute added time before I can run back downstairs and get a hot cuppa.

3:43pm

Wanderers make a quick break - Eagles goes for goal instead of playing the ball inside for Kevin Davies. Wrong decision.

3:41pm

Eagles plays a great ball in to Ngog, but the Frenchman just doesn't control it in time before Orr nipped in to challenge.

3:41pm

Four players - Knight, Mears, SKD and Pratley - all one booking away from suspension.

3:38pm

Eight mins to go this half and Wanderers have largely been in control. Tempo has slowed a lot since the early exchanges, though, and that suits Ipswich.

3:32pm

Clever free kick from Ipswich -  Martin ends up hammering a shot beaten out by Bogdan. Edwards follows up but blasts over the top.

3:30pm

Ngog flagged offside rather dubiously there - great ball from Spearing, who picked the Frenchman out perfectly. Chambers appeared to have played him onside.

3:29pm

Not a massive number of Ipswich fans have made the trip - around 500 - and I'd (generously) estimate about 16,000 Wanderers.

3:26pm

Eagles tries a speculative volley. On target but didn't worry Henderson.

3:24pm

Early momentum has faded a little bit now for the Whites but they are still enjoying the majority of possession.

3:18pm

Alonso delivers a great pull back from Eagles' free kick forcing a panicked clearance from Barnett.

3:17pm

Andrews wins the ball in midfield, plays a ball through for Ngog. He picks out SKD in the middle but with Eagles going for the same ball, his effort goes off target.

3:13pm

Plenty of potential cup destinations - but it's going quite well here at the Reebok right now.

3:11pm

Looks like 4-4-2 from here - Mark Davies playing wide left.

3:10pm

Great start for Wanderers. They have been playing the ball about well so far. Ngog and SKD playing as a front two at the minute.

3:08pm

Marcos Alonso strikes one that gets a deflection and just goes wide.

3:07pm

Mark Davies with a brilliant strike! He exchanged passes with Spearing before hitting a sweet right footed effort that looped over Henderson and into the back of the net.

3:05pm

GOAL! Mark Davies

3:05pm

Andrews has one tipped over the bar after a quick break.

3:00pm

Players have been introduced on to the pitch - nearly time for the off.

2:56pm

By the end of this season I'll be on 84 grounds of the current 92, so AFC Wimbledon, Coventry, Bournemouth, Swansea, Burton, Plymouth, Rotherham or Gillingham would do me down to the ground too.

2:53pm

Fab Muamba will be one of the people doing the FA Cup third round draw tomorrow. Hopes he pulls out Real Mallorca away... Brrr

2:49pm

"I'm not trying to be clever , constantly chopping and changing the team around, I'm just doing what I believe is best for certain games and the best for the football club." - DF in his pre-match notes.

2:47pm

Can only assume an injury. Will ask and confirm later.

2:18pm

This squad rotation lark is hard to fathom at times. Won't care a jot if Wanderers win today, though.

2:17pm

Sordell still not fit enough to play. Postponed reserve game last week didn't help.

2:15pm

So that's three changes for Wanderers - Warnock out of the squad entirely and Chung-Yong/Butterfield dropped to the bench.

2:14pm

Ipswich Town: Henderson, Cresswell, Chambers, Campbell, Edwards, N'Daw, Martin, Drury, Smith, Orr, Barnett

Subs: Loach, Hewitt, Higginbotham, Emmanuel-Thomas, Chopra, Carson, Murphy

2:13pm

BWFC Subs: Lonergan, Mills, Ream, Pratley, Afobe, Chung-Yong, Butterfield

2:10pm

Tinkerman strikes again!

2:09pm

Team: Bogdan, Mears, Ricketts, Knight, Alonso, Spearing, Andrews, Eagles, M Davies, Ngog, K Davies

2:08pm

Wrap up warm if you are even considering visiting the Reebok today. It's about minus five and getting colder.

1:46pm

That means Freedman could potentially go joint second in that list, with Bill Ridding - also the only man to do that in the top flight!

1:45pm

Points earned by post-war Bolton Wanderers managers (after seven games): Allardyce 14, Greaves 14, Ridding 13, Armfield 12, Rowley 12, Lofthouse 11, Rioch 10.

1:28pm

Dougie Freedman is currently the only post-war Wandereres manager to have avoided defeat in his first six games.

1:27pm

Good afternoon from the Reebok/Ice Station Zebra - want to hear a stat?

Hate to be critical after win at Blackburn, though after decent first half defeat was snatched from the jaws of victory with purposeless possession football and equally purposeless substitutions which saw Ipswich grow in confidence and gain a well deserved win.
