Mixed injury fortunes for Wanderers

WANDERERS could be down to the bare bones for this afternoon’s FA Cup clash with Sunderland.
Benik Afobe is out with a tight hamstring, while David Ngog (ankle) and Keith Andrews (Achilles) are not expected to play.
But brighter news is the impending return of midfielders Stuart Holden and Josh Vela, who are pencilled in for Tuesday night’s Manchester Senior Cup match against Oldham.
And Freedman admits he will be waiting to see how the pair react to a potentially heavy pitch at Leyland before deciding whether to dive into the transfer market for a midfielder.
“I will be waiting to see those two before I do anything in the midfield area,” he said.
“We are actually okay in that area once they are back, but with the injuries and the fact that Jay Spearing isn’t our player really, we need someone in there.”
Slovakia Under-21 international midfielder Jan Gregus is in for talks with the club in the next couple of days but is regarded as one for the future by the Wanderers boss.
