YOUNG Wanderers defender Joe Riley is set for a spell on the sidelines after breaking a bone in his foot.
The 21-year-old youth team graduate confirmed via Twitter that the injury is not a new one, but damage caused when he was forced to limp out of the FA Cup third-round tie at home to Sunderland a month ago.
It was originally thought he had only suffered bad bruising after initial scans but now it appears there is a fracture.
The full-back who has made two appearances this season also tweeted a picture of a pair of crutches he says will “be his best mates for the next couple of weeks”.
Riley adds, however, he is hopeful it will not be a lengthy absence
