HULL City new boy George Boyd was considered a potential recent transfer target by Wanderers.
The versatile wide man joined Steve Bruce’s promotion-chasing Tigers on loan this week from Peterborough United, with a view to a summer Bosman move.
And Dougie Freedman admits he did discuss attempting to bring the Scotland B international to the Reebok, only to decide against a move in the end.
“He was on my radar but then I looked at my situation and where the priorities are, and I think he’s more a central midfielder and that’s somewhere I think we are okay,” the Wanderers boss explained.
“He is certainly someone I admire but it’s the wrong time and the wrong position.”
