It’s sweet 16 as Cricketers leapfrog Fold

n FARNWORTH Cricket Club stormed to the top of Division One with a 16-goal beating of Hulton Lane.
Johnson Fold went into the weekend as league leaders but while they were going down 2-1 at home to Newbury, the Cricketers were running riot at Hulton Lane with nine players scoring.
Aaron Monks and Matty Carter scored hat-tricks, Sam McIntyre, Clint McLoughlin and Anthony Harrison got two apiece while Christian Lawton, Daz Smerthurst, Mark Truffas and Jay Mannhon also chipped in. Dominic Carson scored Lane’s consolation.
Ash Aslam and Aaron Sharples got the goals for mid-table Newbury in their win at Johnson Fold. Jay Smith scored for the home side who dropped to second in the table.
Third-placed Cattle Market inflicted a 10-0 drubbing on D Havilland.
Nathan Monson and Lee Fitzsimmons scored hat-tricks, Ryan Keegan netted two and there were also goals for Gaz Gemmill and James Tobin.
Joe Cappy, Alex Crossman and Martin Brown got the goals in fourth-placed Farnworth United’s 3-1 win away to bottom club Deane.
Mitch Leece and Aaron McCarthy scored two apiece and Adam Allwill and Danny Lever were also on target in Darcy Lever’s 6-3 win at Queen Lizzie, whose scorers were Christian Preston (two) and Daniel Leece.
Deane Vulcan, Dunmare and Gilnow Arms continue to slug it out at the top of Division Two, where they are locked in a race for the title.
Vulcan lead Dunmare on goal difference after a 9-0 win at Brindley Arms where Gaz Cunliffe scored a hat-trick, Dean Walmersley and Alan Hillyard scored two apiece and Reece Howarth and Chris Power chipped in, Mitch Thompson scored four for Dunmare in their 9-2 beating of LH Galazy. Luke Hodgson, Paul Smith, Ryan Porter, Adam Berry and Calum Smith were also on the scoresheet for the Mare, Alan Doyce and Len Dobbs scoring for the Galaxy.
Dean Lloyd scored twce and Danny Bocock, John Davies, and Neil Ross netted one apiece in third-placed Gilnow Arms 5-0 win at Royal – a result that keeps them just one point behind the top two.
Hulton Wanderers thrashed Brown Cow 11-0, Patrick Fury, Danny Chadwick and Jack Thornley scoring two apiece with Phil Sankey, Chris Farrel, Scott Molyneaux, Chris Hutchinson and Kieron Delaney also on target.
