FULL-TIME: Nottm Forest Youth 3-2 Wanderers Youth (aet)

WANDERERS Under-18s suffered FA Youth Cup extra-time heartache to lose 3-2 at Nottingham Forest in tonight’s quarter-final at the City Ground.
The night started brightly for David Lee and Tony Kelly’s side when Zach Clough’s thunderbolt into the top corner gave them the lead inside two minutes.
It could have been two but Chris Lester rolled wide from distance after home keeper Jordan Smith had raced out of his goal.
Forest were level on 19 minutes when Derrick Otim collected a Jack Blake pass in the box to side-foot home.
Both sides hit the woodwork; Lester the post with an angled shot for Wanderers before the break.
It was an even second half until Wanderers edged ahead again on 70 minutes when unlucky defender Kieran Fenton slid in to divert Lester’s cross for an own goal.
But it was level again on 77 minutes when Forest substitute Jordan Palmer-Samuels scored with his first touch off the bench.
It finished 2-2 after 90 minutes and one goal decided it in extra-time, Palmer-Samuels again on hand to stab home from close-range to end the cup dreams of the young Whites after a tremendous run that has seen them do the club proud.
