WANDERERS historic first FA Cup final triumph has been short-listed in a new online ESPN poll to find the greatest match that changed history in the famous old competition – and fans can vote for their winner.
The 2-0 win over West Ham in 1923 was the first to be played at Wembley and attracted the all-time biggest cup-tie crowd of 250,000.
It is up against four other classic ties including the 4-4 Merseyside derby in 1991 that turned out to be Kenny Dalglish’s last in charge of Liverpool in his first spell and the 1961 final that sealed the first league and cup double of the 20th century for Tottenham.
The poll goes live online at ESPN.co.uk/facuppoll from Monday for fans to vote for their favourite.
