MATCHDAY LIVE: Ipswich Town 1 Wanderers 0
This live event has finished
Murphy denied by Lonergan after long ball over top
Disaster. Thomas cross - Edwards' first shot blocked, second rifled home.
Ipswich waste a free kick in a great position. Wanderers holding on
Loooong way to come for a 0-0 draw...
Needs something different here. Very scrappy football but Whites having the better of it.
Tabb and Hyam off
Chopra and Thomas on for Ipswich
Eagles bundles a shot just over the bar. Wanderers finishing strongly.
Half chance for Davies soon after he came on - think he will be disappointed not to have got a shot off on target.
Kevin Davies on for Craig Davies
McGoldrick cross just misses the far post.
Ricketts plays a good ball to Alonso on the left - good ball in for Eagles, who slashes a shot just wide.
Scrappy doesn't do this one justice. Who wants it more, though?
Davies slashes a volley wide from the edge of the box.
Mistake by Knight lets Murphy get a run on goal. Another shot over the bar. Let off.
Second half underway
Got the hallmarks of a 1-0 to Bolton this one...
One min added time
But stick with me. Second half will be a goal fest, I'm sure...
Gone right off the boil here. Nowt to report.
Good defending from Knight and Ricketts there. Murphy had a chance to shoot.
Murphy misses a sitter. McGoldrick off balance as he slices wide.
Eagles and Ngog have had some space but are yet to test Henderson.
Ipswich have shaded the first 20 mins. Lonergan's save the highlight so far.
Opens up for Eagles - blasts just over the bar.
Lonergan makes a fine save from Drury's downward header. More problems caused by Edwards on right.
Edwards heads just wide. Tabb cross. Shouldn't be winning that ball at the far post.
Fine ball from Eagles plays Craig Davies in - just too far ahead of the striker
Wanderers look the only side who want to pass the ball about, that's for sure.
Ngog challenged by Smith. He's claiming a pen, but I'm not convinced.
Edwards looking dangerous early on for Ipswich.
And we're off!
Everyone shaking hands. Not long before the off...
@MarcIles how many fans have we taken mark— @eddybwfc 16 March 2013
Nice venue Portman Road, although appreciate the away tickets were pricey. Doesn'e exactly attract the away fans.
Wanderers won seven in a row in league and cup in 2005 according to my ever-reliable Twitter followers. Thanks chaps and chapettes.
But it's blumming cold...
Up in the press box now. Lovely vantage point.
Haven't spoken to Tim for a couple of weeks but I think he's intelligent enough to know the score. Knight and Dawson have been excellent - but Dawson is heading back to West Brom, which gives him a little glimmer.
@MarcIles Great article on Ream in BN today. DF says he has a future, but do you think Ream will want to stay if he isn't starting games?— @njcoleman79 16 March 2013
Will be leaving the warm, comforting bosom of the press room in a few moments to brave the cold. Best grab a brew to take up with me.
I'll be doing co-commentary with Jack Dearden on Radio Manchester but also keeping a running report on here. Bear with me!
@MarcIles If Dougie is so great, why has it taken him so long to realise that N'goals and SKD has never worked?— @Pedro1 16 March 2013
Huddersfield Town winning 2-1 against Leeds. Great score for Wanderers.
@MarcIles spot. On. Well done Doug— @krisconvery 16 March 2013
@MarcIles lonergan deserves it after last few performances. Would have played kamara instead of eagles!— @giuseppemoncado 16 March 2013
“@MarcIles: One change - Craig Davies for Kevin Davies - and Lonergan keeps his place ahead of Bogdan. What do we think?" perfect— @jamesmiskell 16 March 2013
@MarcIles pleased goalie deserves his chance defence looks more confident with longran in young Davies more of a goal threat— @kieth5055 16 March 2013
N'Daw has suffered an injury apparently but it happened too late for Ipswich to do anything about it. Odd...
Ipswich have only named six subs: Loach, Kisnorbo, Mings, Emmanuel-Thomas, Chopra, Lawrenc
Ipswich Town team: Henderson, Stearman, Chambers, Smith, Cresswell, Edwards, Hyam, Drury, Tabb, McGoldrick, Murphy
@MarcIles Well I like it. Lonergan has done enough to hold his place. Starting with C Davies should mean a good attacking start.— @darwendashers 16 March 2013
@MarcIles a good call on both. Craig doing really well and andy put in some great performances.— @hardybwfc 16 March 2013
@MarcIles happy with that. Coywm— @kennardjoe 16 March 2013
@MarcIles good change happy wiv that team— @gavmartin8 16 March 2013
@MarcIles very very happy. Good attacking pace— @iamgodschilduk 16 March 2013
@MarcIles spot on from Dougie, right decision. Strong starting 11 that.— @Leanne_Cohen 16 March 2013
@MarcIles best we could have fielded. Lonergan and C. Davies deserved starters— @JakeFern99 16 March 2013
@MarcIles fantastic team that's the one id pick easy this manager malarkey ;-)— @bwfcjgreen92 16 March 2013
@MarcIles very happy with that team selection!— @Liam_McLoughlin 16 March 2013

@MarcIles fantastic really fancy are chances now #COYWM— @stebea1987 16 March 2013
@MarcIles happy with that!— @GLongworthBWFC 16 March 2013
What do we think of the line-up then?
@MarcIles correct team IMO..glad lonergan still in he's a lot better than bogdan,I can see a good win today 3-1 :-) :-)— @glenn_ashworth 16 March 2013
Wanderers subs: Bogdan, Wheater, Holden, Kamara, Odelusi, Sordell, K Davies
And it looks as if Dougie will be starting with a 4-4-2 formation too. Lonergan keeps his place ahead of Bogdan, who is on the bench.
So one change for Wanderers - Craig Davies for Kevin Davies.
Team - Lonergan, Ricketts, Knight, Dawson, Alonso, Spearing, Pratley, Eagles, Chung-Yong, Ngog, C Davies
@MarcIles can't believe freedman is even THINKING of playing 3 centre back today..why why why change a winning team/formation— @glenn_ashworth 16 March 2013
Leeds now 1-1. That would do me.
RT @OfficialBWFC: David Lee and @TonyZicoKelly's U18s were 2-1 winners away at Crystal Palace earlier today. Walker and an own goal securing the win. #BWFC— @abbaskaj 16 March 2013
Huddersfield winning at Leeds. Good call!
@MarcIles do you expect dougie to play 3 centre backs with 2 wing backs? Any ideas what that would mean for the overall formation?— @JKbwfc 16 March 2013
Sir Bobby Robson faced Wanderers as Ipswich manager four times and won all four games.
Wanderers' biggest win against Ipswich was 6-0, in 1963. Later that season Ipswich beat Wanderers 4-0 to record their biggest-ever win in this fixture.
Wanderers could go into the top six if they win and Forest lose at Hull. Brighton would then have a chance to overtake them when they face Palace tomorrow lunchtime at the Amex.
Have I really just read a headline on the BBC website that says "Injured Jockey in a Stable Condition"???
Can highly recommend the sausage rolls here too. Not bad at all.
@MarcIles should be in the Dutch league its so out of the way— @chris_moorcroft 16 March 2013
Referee is Stuart Atwell today. Chances of 22 players staying on the pitch?
@MarcIles wait til we're down to 9 men & say it again— @stanfordwhites 16 March 2013
I've also been asked to help out with Jack Dearden's commentary on BBC Radio Manchester today. Juggling the two should be fun!!
Within about five minutes of sitting down we were welcomed by former Northern Ireland manager Bryan Hamilton. Lovely fella.
Evidence that I have indeed turned up at the ground...
Cold and wet down here in Suffolk on the banks of the River Orwell but the welcome at Ipswich Town has been great.
Good afternoon all - and a warm welcome from Portman Road.
