FULL TIME: Ipswich 1 Wanderers 0
CARLOS Edwards snatched a winner at the death for Ipswich to shatter Wanderers' streak.
The winger struck at the second attempt in the 88th minute – his first goal in two years - after a scrappy game with precious few goalscoring chances.
Ipswich had come closest to breaking the deadlock, with Daryl Murphy slicing wide in the first half and then wasting another glorious chance after a mistake from Zat Knight.
Adam Drury also forced Andy Lonergan into an excellent save with a downward header early on.
Chris Eagles and David Ngog had half-chances for the Whites, but they never got close to their best.
Nottingham Forest's win against Hull means Wanderers are now five points adrift of the play-off positions going into the international break.
