WANDERERS are on the verge of snapping up Norwich City full-back Marc Tierney.

The Bolton News understands that the former Oldham Athletic and Colchester United defender has agreed terms with the Whites and will become Dougie Freedman's first senior signing of the summer.

Primarily a left-back, the signing of the Prestwich-born 27-year-old also hints that the club are preparing for life after Marcos Alonso, who is on the verge of signing for Italian club Fiorentina after his contract expires.

Tierney, whose contract is up this summer, has spent two seasons at Carrow Road, making a total of 33 appearances after being signed for an undisclosed fee by Paul Lambert.

A serious groin injury curtailed his progress with the Canaries and he has found himself behind Javier Garrido in the reckoning under Chris Hughton this season.
