Bolton Wanderers record buy Johan Elmander to join Norwich City
EX-Wanderers striker Johan Elmander has confirmed he is returning to English football to sign for Norwich City.
The Swedish international forward has been linked with a move from Galatasaray for several days but has now revealed on his own Twitter page that he is on the verge of joining the Canaries.
Elmander left Wanderers in the summer of 2011 to join the Turkish giants after three seasons at the Reebok and 22 goals in more than 100 appearances.
But now the man who cost the Whites a record £8million transfer fee from Toulouse is heading back to the English top flight.
The 32-year-old tweeted on Tuesday night: “On the way to Norwich City! A new career begins tomorrow!.. I’m happy to be back in England. You know more than me, but it’s right.”
If confirmed, Elmander could make his Carrow Road bow against Bury in the Capital One Cup second round on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Chelsea could be about to make a move for former Wanderers loanee Rodrigo Moreno, according to reports.
The Brazilian-born Spaniard, who scored once in 21 appearances for the Whites in 2010-11, has impressed with his form for Benfica and was part of Spain’s successful Under-21 European Championship-winning squad this summer.
