Andre Moritz not ready to start for Bolton Wanderers
PLAYMAKER Andre Moritz is progressing with his fitness but not yet ready to start, according to Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman.
The Brazilian has had brief moments of first-team action for the Whites since his arrival from Crystal Palace and has also figured for the Under-21 development squad.
And with Darren Pratley suspended following his sending off against Nottingham Forest last week, the 27-year-old could have been a perfect replacement as an attacking midfielder against QPR tomorrow.
But Freedman says it is more likely he will start in the Capital One Cup at Tranmere on Tuesday, believing it would be unfair to throw him into such a big game tomorrow.
The Whites boss said: “Andre is coming on. He played last week in the reserves but he is not match fit yet.
“He was on the bench last week and to bring him on from the beginning would be very difficult.
“I don’t think it is fair to a guy when you bring him to a new club to put him in when he’s not right.
“Twenty minutes here and there he will still be good but it probably will not be until after the international break that we see the best of him.
“He may start in the cup against Tranmere but not in a big game against QPR.”
