MATCHDAY LIVE: Wanderers 0 v 1 QPR
Updated 2:11pm Saturday 24th August 2013 in Sport
This live event has finished
A lack of creativity has cost Bolton dearly today, the game ends 0-1.
A Knight cross fly's right into the stand behind the goal, well I think it was a cross...
Zat Knight now joins Davies up-front
There will be a minimum of five minutes added time
Freedman rushes out of his technical area to fetch the ball to keep the game flowing
Sixth booking for the visitors as Onuoha fouls Davies
That fifth yellow card will result in a fine for QPR for 'failure to control players'
Simpson plants a late tackle on hall and is shown a yellow card from the referee
Sub: Jenas is on for the goal-scorer Johnson
Hall slips in Davies and Green gets down low to save his shot
Shout of 'off, off, off' as Barton catches Medo with a late tackle, just a quiet word from the referee though
Sub: Traore replaces Wright-Phillips
Hall whips a tantilising ball between then goalkeeper and the last defender but no Bolton player gambled to get on the end of it
It was clearly a tactical substitution as he was faultless throughout
Standing obvation from all four stands for Ream, excellent performance, the best I have ever seen him in a Bolton shirt.
Sub: Ream is replaced by Hall
Sub: Zamora comes on for Austin
Moritz fires a shot just wide of the up-right
The official attendance is 14,999. One of the many reasons I am completely against early kick-offs.
Sub: Moritz replaces Ngog
Medo cuts inside and fires wide on his left-foot
Sub: Beckford is replaced by C Davies
Austin and Tierney go into the book for a little bit of afters following a tackle from the left-back
Lovely one-touch passing from the visitors cut open the Bolton defence and Hill's low cross is met by Johnson at the back-post who has the easiest of tasks to tap home from 2-yards. 0-1.
Johnson scores for QPR
Ngog's low cross from the right hit the advancing Lee and rises over the crossbar, a little better from Bolton
Spearing's inswinging free-kick gets a flick from Wheater but is gathered easily by Green
Henry goes into the book for a foul on Chungy 20-yards out
Looking at the substitutes, Zamora and Jenas look like the obvious game changers if they were to take a gamble
The second-half has started the exact way the first-half ended, both teams happy to retain posession without really threatening
QPR get the second-half underway
The referee blow the long awaited half-time whilst, surely the second-half can only get better?
There will be a minimum of one minute added time, not entirely sure where he has got that from
Not much happening now, time for our game of guess the half-time soup
Both sides really cancelling each other out, massive improvement from the Forest game non the less
The visitors are doing most of the pressing now with Wright-Phillips seeing plenty of the ball down the left-hand side
Ream is reading the game really well, breaking-up majoirty of the QPR attacks
Medo urged to shoot from the Bolton fans and shoot he does, Green was forced into a full-stretched save to tip it onto the post! Great effort!
Austin's 30-yard shot clips Wheater and rises over the bar
The corner is too close to Green who quickly releases Wright-Phillips to carry to ball into the Wanderers half and tee-up Barton for a shot but Bogdan holds is well positioned to catch
Spearing's free-kick needed a touch from Green to help it over the crossbar
Barton's high arm catches Chungy in the face at the edge of the box to earn him a caution, greeted by jeers from the home fans
QPR defence looking very shaky in the opening stages
Tierney with a couple of wild crosses from the left, however it does only take one to find its intended target...
Beckford races clear of Dunne to latch onto a loose backpass from Barton, one-on-one he drags the shot wide of the post. Should have been scored, great opportunity
Ream is playing CDM allowing Spearing to play an advanced role alongside Medo. Only four at the back
12:25pm Sat 24 Aug 13
Three CBs,looks like DF is HOPING for a draw??????? Hope the boys surprise him.Go Whites Go.
Beckfords optimistic left-footed shot trickles wide
Johnson looks lively sitting on the shoulder on the last defender, peeling off at every opportunity
Dunne is first into the book as he breaks up a Bolton counter-attack bringing down Beckford on half-way
Ream's good delivery was headed out for another corner but the follow up corner was defended with ease
Spearing's free-kick clips the top of the wall and goes out for a corner
Chungy drives at the QPR defence and brought down by O'Neil at the edge of the box, free-kick Bolton...
Wheater blocks a low cross and puts it behind for a corner, Wanderers call all 11 men back to defend
Wanderers start in a 4-1-2-1-2 formation, Ream playing CDM with Chungy just behind Ngog and Beckford
Bolton get the game underway
A round of applause rings around the stadium in memory of Nat Lofthouse OBE
Time to switch our focus onto the football now though as the teams head out onto the pitch
The unveiling was done by Eddie Davies who said "it is a fitting tribute on the eve of what would have been his 88th on Tuesday."
It seemed to go down well with the fans too
The statue of Nat Lofthouse was unveiled earlier, very impressive. It definitely exceded my expectations
Interesting decision by Dougie to pick three CB's, or do you think Ream will play CDM? Tweet in your thoughts to @MMckenzie93 or comment below!
Im not a fan of these early kick-offs myself, I usually enjoy a good ly-in on a Saturday
If my memory serves me right, I think Richard Dunne has scored more goals for Bolton than against us!
Three changes from the Wanderers with Hall, Davies and Pratley out. Beckford, Ngog and Ream coming in
