RUGBY UNION: Bolton RUFC juniors open day
TEAMS in the North West had better watch out because Bolton Rugby Club mean business this season.
There was a lot of interest shown at the Juniors Open Day with more than 50 new youngsters joining in the fun.
The sun shone and a huge set of bright red inflatable rugby posts dominated the skyline as old and new faces joined England Under-20s International, Bex Trist, at the event.
Sharky, the mascot from Sale Sharks, made a star appearance and helped to inspire 20 new under-8s members to give the sport a try.
Boys and girls of all ages, oozed enthusiasm and ran out on to the newly-improved lush green pitches.
They joined together in touch-rugby teams and tested their fitness in challenging training sessions There was also a chance to have a go at the special rugby assault course.
A spokesman for the event said: “The youth of Bolton proved they are definitely not couch potatoes and the supporting parents were extremely proud.”
