Craig Davies suffers Bolton Wanderers injury setback
CRAIG Davies has suffered a setback in his recovery from a foot injury and will not be fit to face his former club Yeovil Town tomorrow.
The big striker has been out of action since appearing as a substitute in the 4-1 defeat against Blackburn Rovers last month.
It was hoped he would return to contention against the Glovers, where he spent a short spell on loan in 2009, but Dougie Freedman confirmed yesterday that he would be missing at least until Tuesday’s trip to Blackpool.
“Craig trained today (Thursday) but he’ll miss the weekend, unfortunately,” he said. “We thought he would be back for Yeovil but it looks like it will take a bit more time.
“Other than that, we’ve not picked up any more knocks this week.”
Freedman watched highly-rated youngster Zach Clough score twice for the development squad in midweek but feels tomorrow’s game is not the right time to pitch him into the first team.
“I am desperate to give young Zach an opportunity because he’s a brilliant young player,” he said.
“Tom Youngs too – they are brilliant players. But at the moment it’s just not fair for me to do that.”
