Bolton Wanderers duo Conor Wilkinson and Chris Lester keen to impress at Chester
YOUNG Wanderers striker Conor Wilkinson scored on his debut for Chester on Saturday to help his side to a 1-1 draw with Aldershot Town.
The 18-year-old was joined in the Chester side by Whites Under-21s team-mate Chris Lester after both joined the Conference Premier side on one-month loan deals on Thursday.
And manager Neil Young praised Wilkinson, pictured, for his goal, saying it illustrated exactly why he wanted the Wanderers teenager on loan.
Young said: “Conor is a big striker who has certainly made an impact recently and came to us in great form.
“It was such a special goal on Saturday, to control it on his chest and hit it like he did. It was some finish for a young boy.
“I thought he was outstanding all day and caused their centre-halves problems all afternoon.”
Young was also impressed with 19-year-old Northern Ireland U21 international Lester.
He added: “Chris is also a great addition for us, and will make our midfield stronger.
“Considering they only joined on Thursday, they put in good performances.”
