MARK Davies completed 70 minutes as Wanderers Under-21s won 3-2 at Liverpool today and could now be in line for a first-team return at Wigan on Sunday.

The 25-year-old has now played more than an hour in two comeback games after nine months out with a cruciate knee ligament injury.

And if there is no reaction, manager Dougie Freedman could welcome his back into the squad at the DW Stadium.

In front of a watching Freedman and his assistant Lennie Lawrence, Wanderers also included former Liverpool target Josh Vela as he also continues his own comeback from injury.

And the visitors had a fine start to the FA U21 Premier League clash with a Jan Gregus penalty and a Zach Clough strike giving them a 2-0 lead midway through the first half.

However, goals from Jordan Rossiter and Jordon Ibe from the penalty spot made it 2-2 at half time.

But Oscar Threlkeld powered home a header to win it for the Whites six minutes from time.
